XIONG Hui 熊辉

熊辉，香港科技大学（广州）协理副校长（知识转移），人工智能学域创始主任、讲座教授、AI+实验室主任；曾担任美国罗格斯-新泽西州立大学杰出教授、罗格斯信息安全中心主任、美国罗格斯大学-科大讯飞大数据联合实验室主任。获AAAS（美国科学促进会） Fellow、IEEE Fellow、ACM杰出科学家、教育部长江学者、中国基金委海外杰青等荣誉。曾任百度研究院副院长并主管5个实验室。主要研究方向为人工智能、信息安全、数据科学。主持国家自然科学基金3项，主持美国NSF基金10项。与众多世界知名科技企业开展产学研合作，包括Citrix Systems Inc.、IBM、SAP、华为、科大讯飞、腾讯、阿里、OPPO、百度等。获哈佛商业评论2018年“拉姆.查兰管理实践奖”全场大奖。在国际顶级期刊会议发表论文300余篇、Google Scholar引用36000余次 (h-index 89)。获AAAI 2021最佳论文奖、IEEE ICDM 2017杰出服务奖、IEEE ICDM 2011最佳研究论文奖等多个奖项。任国际计算机学会数据挖掘及知识发现专委会秘书长（ACM SIGKDD Secretary），CCF大数据专家委员会副主任，Encyclopedia of GIS (Springer)共同主编、ACM TKDD和ACM TMIS编委。曾任ACM SIGKDD 2018、ACM SIGKDD 2012和IEEE ICDM 2015、IEEE ICDM 2013等多个国际顶级会议（共同）程序委员会主席或大会主席。在人才培养方面，许多博士生已经成为世界各地的终身教授。

Professor Xiong Hui holds esteemed positions at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) as a Chair Professor, Associate Vice President for Knowledge Transfer, and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Thrust. Dr. Xiong’s research interests include data science and artificial intelligence. Dr. Xiong received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, USA. He has served regularly on the organization and program committees of numerous conferences, including as a Program Co-Chair of the Industrial and Government Track for the 18th ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), a Program Co-Chair for the IEEE 2013 International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), a General Co-Chair for the 2015 IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), and a Program Co-Chair of the Research Track for the 2018 ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. He previously served as Chief Scientist (Smart City) and Deputy Dean of Baidu Research Institute, leading five research labs. Prof. Xiong has received numerous honors and awards. He received the 2021 AAAI Best Paper Award, the 2017 IEEE ICDM Outstanding Service Award, and the 2011 IEEE ICDM Best Research Paper award. For his outstanding contributions to data mining and mobile computing, he was elected as Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Distinguished Scientist of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is also recognized for his talent cultivation as many of his PhD students have become tenure-track professors worldwide.
