Brief Introduction
Relying on the strong research background of HKUST, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Thrust is dedicated to basic and applied research in artificial intelligence, aiming to cultivate high-level research and application talents with excellent professional skills, multidisciplinary capabilities and international perspectives.
We have world-renowned AI teaching and research team - theoretical basic teaching and hands-on training, basic research and applied research together.
Focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching, recruiting students from different backgrounds - Cross-disciplinary collaboration with the Internet of Things, digital media and arts, intelligent transportation, robotic systems, financial technology, life sciences and biomedical engineering, advanced materials, etc.
Focusing on links with industry, the department has undertaken numerous joint projects with high-tech companies such as Tencent, Huawei, Ali, Baidu, OPPO, FUNMARU Technology, Simeo Technology, and Longchamp Group. We will continue to expand these collaborations significantly and encourage all students to spend a minimum of 3 months in industry during their studies.
